It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Guy Gauvreau on July 27th,2026, at the age of 84.
Born in Ottawa on March 1st, 1942, Guy grew up and spent his adult life in Aylmer. Throughout his life, Guy was known for his sincere desire to help others. Trained as an electrician, he was, for many, a true source of light and someone who was greatly appreciated.
He built his career with the Department of National Defence, which gave him the opportunity to travel and discover different parts of Canada.
He was predeceased by his first wife Diane Morrison. He was the beloved husband of Carole St-Denis and the son of the late Gaston Gauvreau and the late Cécile Thibault.
In addition to his wife, he leaves to mourn his daughter Angela (Boris); his son Daniel; his stepchildren Suzanne (François) and Raymond (Sylvie); his grandchildren Gabrielle (Jérémie), Samuel (Gabrielle) and Nicholas, and his great-grandchildren Tommy and Livia.
He also leaves his sisters Monique (Pierre Germain), Lorraine (Dan Wolff) and Estelle (René “Chich” Gravelle), as well as Diane and Hélène Laurin.
A celebration of his life, in the presence of his ashes, will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the Coopérative funéraire de l’Outaouais, located at 95 boul. de la Cité-des-Jeunes in Gatineau (Hull sector). The family will receive condolences beginning at 9:15 a.m.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the doctors, nurses, and care attendants at Maison des Collines for their dedication, compassion, and the exceptional care they provided to Guy.
