Robert “Bob” Wilson of Gatineau (Aylmer) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of the late Mary Wilson (nee McBain) for 58 years. Son of the late William Harvey and the late Elizabeth Wilson.
Loving father of Kevin (Donna), Brian (Johanne), and Allan (Helen). Dear grandfather of Kristen (Ben), Brandon, Karen, and Aidan. He will be missed by his sister Lillian (late Bruce), his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law John, Catherine (late Bill), Eileen (late Aurele), Dorothy (Terry), and Stan (Helen) as well as many nephews, nieces and friends.
Pre-deceased by brothers and sisters Morley (late Jeanette), Doris, Iva (late Hubert), Neil (late Claire), Ross (late Sadie), Bill (late Rose), Art (late Irene), and Ken (Dorothy).
A celebration service of Robert’s life will be held on Saturday, May 23rd, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Christ Church Aylmer (101 Rue Symmes, Gatineau, QC J9H 3K6). A reception will follow.
Bob was an employee of Hydro-Quebec for many years and enjoyed his retirement since 1996. He was also a longtime volunteer in Aylmer’s community, especially with the Aylmer Soccer Club and Christ Church Aylmer. He was also a longtime member of the Rideau Curling Club.
