It is with great sadness that we announce that Martin Bailey passed away on February 25, 2026, at the age of 83. He was the beloved husband of Jeannine Bertrand and the son of the late Arthur Bailey and the late Florence (Meadows) Bailey.
He was predeceased by his brother, Wayne Bailey and his sisters, Marilyn Wilkinson (the late George) and Sheila Danis (the late Richard).
Besides his wife, he leaves to mourn his goddaughter, Debbie Burton, his sister-in-law, Francine, many nieces and nephews; his four stepchildren Diane (the late Mario), Cleo (Lise), Francine (Roger) and Helene (Jean-Marie), as well as many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 10 am at the Coopérative funéraire de l’Outaouais, 95 de la Cité des Jeunes Boulevard in Gatineau (Hull sector). Family will be present as of 9:15 to receive condolences. Burial at Saint-James Cemetery will follow the reception.
If desired, expressions of sympathy may be made through donations to the Canadian Cancer Research Society https://cancer.src-crs.ca/.
