Some people leave us with memories. Some leave a part of themselves behind in the people they loved.
Marc Brosseau was one of those people.
Marc passed peacefully on September 9, 2026, surrounded by his wife and life partner of nearly 49 years, Michelle (née Brouillette), and the family he loved so deeply.
He found happiness in books and literature, in learning and discovering, in good conversations, and in the ordinary moments of life that became special simply because they were shared with the people he loved.
He will be missed beyond words by his daughters, Ruth Ellen (Nicolas) and Stephanie; his much-loved grandson, Logan (Izzy); Simon and Thomas Gauthier. He will also be remembered by his brother Guy (Denise), his sisters Manon, Edith and France (Stephan), his nephews Patrick and David, and his nieces Véronique and Jessica.
Marc was predeceased by his parents, Arnold Brosseau and Pauline Filteau.
There will be an empty place at the table, a voice we will look for, stories we will tell again, and moments when we will instinctively wish we could call him.
But Marc’s life will not be measured by his final days. It will be remembered in the love he gave, the conversations he shared, the things he taught us, and the memories that will stay with us long after he is gone.
His family is deeply grateful to everyone who cared for Marc and helped surround him with compassion, dignity and love.
In his memory, donations to the ALS Society of Quebec, to support research and the search for better treatments, would be greatly appreciated.
