In Loving Memory of Claude “Gaga” Spingle
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Claude “Gaga” Spingle, on August 5, 2026, in Gatineau, Quebec, at the age of 85. He was the beloved husband of the late Joyce Buckle and the son of the late George R. Spingle Sr. and the late Kathleen Thomas.
Claude leaves behind his brothers Wayne, Bob, and Mark, his sisters Kay, and Cynthia, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Bill, and George Jr, and his sisters Sylvia, and Peggy.
Claude took great pride in his lifelong career as a pipefitter and welder. His work took him throughout Canada and the United States, allowing him to travel while pursuing the trade he loved. He eventually made Montreal his professional home, where he worked on the piers as a welder and pipefitter. He continued working in his trade until the age of 72, a testament to his dedication, strong work ethic, and pride in his profession.
Beyond his career, Claude will be remembered for his kind and generous spirit. He loved seeing others happy, and he and Joyce opened their home to many, offering food, shelter, friendship, and a helping hand to those in need. He was a truly good soul who touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral service in Gatineau. A service will be held in St. Paul’s River, Quebec, at a later date. Details will be announced in due course.
Rest peacefully, Gaga.
