It is with deep love and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Carol Poirier, age 66, on January 5th, 2026, in his home, surrounded by those he loved.
Carol was the devoted husband and soulmate of Angelika Niedling, and a man whose presence brought steadiness, kindness, and quiet strength to all who knew him.
He was the beloved son of the late Antoine Poirier and Jaqueline Audy, and a brother to Régis Poirier and Ginette Poirier Lamarre. Carol will be deeply missed by his wife, siblings, extended family, and many dear friends whose lives were touched by his love, loyalty, and gentle spirit.
Carol’s love lives on - in the hearts he shaped, the memories he created, and the bond he shared so deeply with those closest to him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 29th, 2026 from 9:00am – 12:30pm at la Coopérative funéraire de l’Outaouais
95 de la Cité des Jeunes Boulevard in Gatineau, Québec J8Y 6X3
In honour of Carol’s life, flowers are welcome as an expression of sympathy.

My deepest condolences to you Angelika and family.
Carol and I first worked together as colleagues, and later he became my supervisor. He was always fair, calm, and someone you can count on. I'll always remember the time he came to my log cabin to help chop wood. I thought we had done plenty for one day, but with Carol within an hour the job was finished. That was just his way, steady, capable, and always willing to lend a hand.
He always had my back, and I will never forget the times we shared.
