Sympathy Messages

Sympathie à toute la famille.

- Daniel, on May 6, 2026

To the Peters family and Karen' friends, My deepest condolences to Karen's family whom I have known since 1970, while I was interning in Detroit with my dearest and departed friend Siméon. After his departure, Ruth and I kept in touch with her. We are grateful to have been able to visit her at the hospital a few weeks ago where, despite all that assailed her lately, she had kept her kind attitude, which was certainly one of her main assets. Sincères condoléances à Normand,Nathalie, leurs enfants ainsi qu’à tout l’environnement de Karen. Elle restera gravée dans nos mémoires comme Siméon l’a toujours été et le restera.

Karen was my best friend, my guardian angel and in a small sense, my mother, all rolled into one. She supported me and walked alongside me in years where I was troubled. She played the piano with me. We played duets together for many years. She even invited me into not one, but two piano groups that she belonged to. Karen enjoyed the piano tremendously but she also very much enjoyed reading. I know she spoke fondly of her times participating in her book club(s). Karen spread kindness wherever she went. Once we had a joint piano recital held in her home. Once she drove all the way out to Marvelville where I live, at night, to play a duet with me at the Marvelville Children's Christmas Concert. I will miss Karen greatly but more than that, when I think of her, it will be of so many happy memories.
