Burial: The interment of a body or urn in a cemetery.

Casket: A rigid container used for burial or cremation.

Columbarium : A structure made up of niches designed to hold urns.

Cremation : The process of reducing the body to ashes through fire.

Cinerary Urn : A container designed to hold cremated ashes.

Death Certificate: An official document issued by the Registrar of Civil Status confirming a person’s death.

Disposition: The chosen method for handling the remains of the deceased.

Estate : All of a deceased person’s property and final wishes.

Embalming: Care provided to the body to delay decomposition.

Executor: The person appointed to administer an estate.

Funeral Ceremony: A gathering to pay tribute to the deceased.

Prearrangement: A contract signed in advance to plan one’s funeral according to personal wishes.

Place of Reflection: A space arranged for remembrance and tributes (such as a lounge or chapel).

Repatriation: The transport of the body back to its region or country of origin.

Visitation Room: A space for visits and tributes prior to the ceremony.
