It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John on August 21st at the Ottawa General Hospital at the age of 56 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He leaves behind his beloved friend Steve and his loving children Alexandra (Darrin), Mathew, Jeremy and Fillip. Son of Jadwiga (Eddie) (nee Stachnik) and the late Marian Frank Szlachetka.
John will be remembered by all the people he touched with is great sensitivity and kindness. John was an LGBT Activist, Speaker, LGBT Rights Writer and a friend to many.
