It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Ivan Rashid on July 9th, 2023, at the age of 67.
He leaves behind his life partner Julie Lafrance, his only daughter Killashandra (Alistair); his brother Isaac (Ruth); his niece and nephews Samuel, Sarah and Jacob as well as many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Mushtaq Rashid, Mohini Hemraj and by his brother Sylvester.
In order to respect his wishes, there will be no funeral.
For those who wish to do so, donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society would be appreciated.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the CSSS Pavillon de Hull and Pavillon de Gatineau for their support and the good care provided to him.

It is with deep sorrow that I offer condolences for your loss. I had the privilege to work with Ivan for several years in the 1980s during our time with the Canada Employment Centre in Niagara Falls. I recall a brilliant man who was always laughing and smiling while showing kindness and sharing his wisdom. A truly gentle soul who made our lives more enjoyable.
