C'est avec tristesse que nous vous faisons part du décès de monsieur Guy Gauvreau survenu le 27 juillet 2026 à l’âge de 84 ans.
Né à Ottawa le 1er mars 1942, Guy a grandi et vécu sa vie adulte à Aylmer. Toute sa vie, Guy s’est distingué par son désir sincère d’aider les autres. Électricien de formation, il était, pour plusieurs, une véritable source de lumière, grandement appréciée.
Il a fait carrière à la Défense nationale, ce qui lui a permis de voyager et de découvrir les différentes régions du Canada.
Il fut prédécédé par sa première conjointe, Diane Morrison. Il était l’époux de Carole St-Denis et le fils de feu Gaston Gauvreau et de feu Cécile Thibault.
Outre son épouse, il laisse dans le deuil sa fille Angela (Boris) et son fils Daniel; ses beaux-enfants Suzanne (François) et Raymond (Sylvie); ses petits-enfants Gabrielle (Jérémie), Samuel (Gabrielle) et Nicholas et ses arrière-petits-enfants Tommy et Livia.
Il laisse également dans le deuil ses sœurs Monique (Pierre Germain), Lorraine (Dan Wolff), Estelle (René « Chich » Gravelle), ainsi que Diane et Hélène Laurin.
Une célébration de sa vie, en présence de ses cendres, aura lieu le vendredi 28 août 2026, à compter de 10h, à la Coopérative funéraire de l’Outaouais, située au 95, boulevard de la Cité-des-Jeunes, à Gatineau (secteur Hull). La famille recevra les condoléances à compter de 9 h15.
La famille tient à remercier sincèrement les médecins, infirmières et préposés de La Maison des Collines pour leur dévouement, leur compassion et l’excellence des soins prodigués à Guy.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Guy Gauvreau on July 27th, 2026, at the age of 84.
Born in Ottawa on March 1st, 1942, Guy grew up and spent his adult life in Aylmer. Throughout his life, Guy was known for his sincere desire to help others. Trained as an electrician, he was, for many, a true source of light and someone who was greatly appreciated. He built his career with the Department of National Defence, which gave him the opportunity to travel and discover different parts of Canada.
He was predeceased by his first wife Diane Morrison. He was the beloved husband of Carole St-Denis and the son of the late Gaston Gauvreau and the late Cécile Thibault.
In addition to his wife, he leaves to mourn his daughter Angela (Boris), his son Daniel; his stepchildren Suzanne (François) and Raymond (Sylvie); his grandchildren Gabrielle (Jérémie), Samuel (Gabrielle) and Nicholas, and his great-grandchildren Tommy and Livia.
He also leaves his sisters Monique (Pierre Germain), Lorraine (Dan Wolff) and Estelle (René “Chich” Gravelle), as well as Diane and Hélène Laurin.
A celebration of his life, in the presence of his ashes, will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the Coopérative funéraire de l’Outaouais, located at 95 de la Cité des Jeunes Boulevard in Gatineau (Hull sector). The family will receive condolences beginning at 9:15 a.m.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the doctors, nurses, and care attendants at La Maison des Collines for their dedication, compassion, and the exceptional care they provided to Guy.
