La familles
Quelle beau sourire
Une collègue de travail a Bell
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beautiful Dolorès Dolan, born Kearney on October 22nd, 2023, at the age of 88.
She was the wife of the late Richard Dolan, the daughter of the late Émile Kearney and of the late Carmen Chicoine. She leaves behind her children Paul (Thérèse Robichaud), Diane, Carole (the late Yvan Bouchard) and Yvan (Mary Ann Hue); her grandchildren Yan Kearney (Julie Gareau) and Cathy Kearney (Jimmy Roy), Ian Dolan (Valérie Dubois-Desroches), Aïda Youssouf (Joseph Ameni), Joshua and Shanty Dolan as well as many great-grandchildren. She also leaves her sister Francine Kearney (Michel Bourdon), many nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.
Dolorès was born in 1935 in Montreal where she spent most of her early years. In 1958, she moved to Trois-Rivières to follow her husband who worked as an insurance inspector. In 1966, the family moved to Gatineau to start-up the office of Vidéotron which belonged to her brother-in-law André Chagnon. Dolorès worked for many years for Vidéotron and continued her career at Bell Canada from which she retired.
Exceptional mother, extraordinary grandmother and wonderful friend… She was a kind and strong woman with a contagious smile, who brought us pure happiness. Her loss is not easy to accept to all who knew her.
Dodo was a bowling champion in Trois-Rivières. Upon her arrival in Gatineau, she was initiated by her husband to golf, a sport that she enjoyed for many years. She was passionate about travelling and had the opportunity to go the Bahamas, visit many Caribbean islands and enjoy many cruises. When she retired, Dolorès and her husband spent their winters in Florida. She also had the chance to go to Italy, the trip of her dreams, accompanied by her daughter-in-law Mary-Ann Hue.
Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with Alzheimer at the age of 82 and the disease slowly developed over the years until her last moments.
A celebration of Dolorès Dolan’s life will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at 2 pm at La Coopérative funéraire de l’Outaouais, 1369 La Vérendrye Boulevard West in Gatineau. Family will receive condolences as of 1:15 pm. A reception will follow.
