C'est avec tristesse que nous vous faisons part du décès de madame Claire M. Barnabé survenu le 8 septembre 2026, à l’âge de 85 ans. Elle était la fille de feu Hector Barnabé et de feu Violette Trebert et fut prédécédée par ses sœurs Denise (Wood), Louise (Arp) et son frère Robert.
Elle laisse dans le deuil son frère Marcel, sa sœur Suzanne (Cole), ainsi que plusieurs, neveux, nièces, cousins et amis.
Vos marques de sympathie peuvent se traduire par un don à la Fondation de la Résidence Prescott Russell.

It is with sadness that we inform you of the death of Mrs. Claire M. Barnabé on September 8, 2026, at the age of 85. She was the daughter of the late Hector Barnabé and the late Violette Trebert and was predeceased by her sisters Denise (Wood), Louise (Arp) and her brother Robert.
She is survived by her brother Marcel, her sister Suzanne (Cole), as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
For those who wish to do so, donations to the Prescott Russell Residence Foundation would be appreciated.

My sincere condolences to you, Ann, and to all of Claire’s family. I met Claire in 1988 at Indigenous and Northern Affairs. She took me under her wing and taught me everything I needed to know about the Northern territories. It was a pleasure to work with her until her retirement and I have been grateful for the many years of friendship we maintained during her retirement and then eventually mine. We’ve had plenty of good lunches and political discussions; her views always much appreciated. She will always hold a place in my heart as a very dear friend. She will be missed.

Hi Anne it’s with a super heavy heart I will not be coming for aunt Claire funeral so many factors we couldn’t make it work.
I want you to know how important Aunt Claire was to the Talbot family, my mom and dad’s beat friend, but there 4 kids are the adults because of Aunt Claire guidance.
She was larger than life and ment so much to all of us and you too.
We are very grateful that you have been in her life and want you to know if you’re ever traveling are way your always welcome to stay with anyone us
Sending prayers and love your way she will be extremely missed but remember for all the good times we were able to share with her in our younger days and you.
