À la mémoire de

Susanna Krahn

1928 - 2025

We, the family of Suzanna Krahn (Mosionier), share that our mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025 at the age of 97 years. We are thankful to God for her long life and for His care and faithfulness to her.

Suzanna was born on July 4, 1928, in Gretna, Manitoba, to Peter C. Krahn and Margaret Krahn, along with her twin sister Kay. When she was five years old, her family moved to a housebarn in Waldheim Village, southeast of Morden, an early Mennonite settlement. These beginnings shaped her life of quiet strength and perseverance.

She attended school in Rosenort Village and later at Blumstein School, both one-room country schools. At the age of 16, she left home and traveled by train to Winnipeg, where she lived and worked. There she met John Mosionier, and they were married on September 9, 1947.

Soon after, their daughter Carol was born on December 6, 1947. Carol passed away on April 1, 2010. Their second daughter, Marlene, was born on September 1, 1950, and passed away on January 13, 2015. Suzanna bore these losses with patience and faith.

Suzanna was predeceased by her daughters Carol and Marlene, and by four of her six siblings: Peter, Margaret, Bill, and her twin sister Kay. She is survived by her brothers Henry and John, as well as extended family. She is also predeceased by Danny who was her longtime companion.

A private family service will be held on January 19, 2026 where she will be laid to rest with her daughters and her former husband, John Mosionier.

We place her in God’s hands, trusting in His mercy and the hope of eternal life.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” — Psalm 23:1

We are grateful for her life and her example to us.

A beautiful obituary for a strong, courageous and adventurous woman who lived a full life. My father Henry, who closely followed her activities over the years, certainly misses her. He looked forward to getting updates from her and sharing stories. We appreciated the most recent information relayed by Gladys this past fall. Danny your devotion to your grandmother was very evident. All the best.
