It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michel (Mich) Henault at the age of 48, of throat cancer. Surrounded by loving family and friends, Mich passed away peacefully and without pain. A resident of Montreal, Mich enjoyed a full life and career in the restaurant and hospitality industry, which saw him build lifelong friendships in Montréal, Ottawa, New York, Florida and Mexico - friends who remember a man that lived life creatively and with enthusiasm. He is survived by his loving parents Bob and Joan Henault, brother Paul, sister Remi and her partner Bob, and sister Lehann; immediate nephews and nieces Joshua, Bobby, Lexus, Rachel, Logan and Alijah, as well as extended family and friends across North America. We also convey our heartfelt appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff at lHôpital Notre-Dame in Montréal and lHôpital de Gatineau, Québec for their efforts, counsel and support. It was Michs wish that there be no funeral service but that he be cremated instead. That will be followed in the Fall by a private ceremony at which his ashes will be spread across a body of water that flows out to sea. Donations in Michs name to support cancer research, treatment and prevention, with a focus on nicotine and alcohol addiction, are welcome.
