October 2nd 1963 to August 22nd 2011
It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of Leigh on Monday August 22nd, 2011 at the age of 47 years old while surrounded by his family and friends. He fought courageously with cancer and lost. He is pre-deceased by his father Donald Bigelow, mother Ella McQuaig Berry, sister Jean Goyette and brother John (Jack).
He was a devoted companion to his wife Lidia who took such good care of him during his battle. He was a wonderful brother to Lois ( Richard Gourgon) Lloyd ( Louise) and Leona his sister/best friend who both shared a great bond between each other ( Paul Roberts.)
Leigh was an exceptional uncle to all his nieces, nephews and his step children from a previous marriage , Christina , Jeffery and Tiffany. He will be missed by his extended family and friends.
He will certainly be remembered for his kind and generous nature,quick wit and humour, sharp mind . He was friendly; fun, honest, an animal nature lover and wonderful person who will be truly missed.
Leigh would want to raise colon cancer awareness amongst all of you and his message would be to Go for a colonoscopy it could save your life He wished he would have.....
We want to also thank Dr Bourgeois and the staff in the Pallative Care at the Gatineau Hospital for great care and compassion.
Visitations will be held at LA COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉRAIRE DE LOUTAOUAIS, 115 Maclaren E, in Gatineau,(Buckingham sector) on august 26 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m, and also on the august 27 from 9 a.m to 10:30 a.m. The funeral service will be held on 27 august at 11 a.m at Our Lady of Victory church located at 490 Charles St in Gatineau (Buckingham sector).
