SMILEY, John T
John Smiley, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on October 19, 2024, at the age of 86. John was predeceased by his son William (Bill) and his brother Peter.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Smiley (Grant), his daughter Lynn (Darin McRae), daughter-in-law Suzanne Smiley and by his grandchildren Tyler, Connor, Autumn, Finola and Abigail.
John was born in Shawville, Quebec to Kyle and Pearl Smiley (Jackson). He was passionate about British cars, especially MGs and Jaguars. He also enjoyed woodworking, traveling, spending winters in Arizona and summers at the cottage. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all that knew him.
The family would like to express its gratitude to the staff of the Hull Hospital’s dialysis unit for the compassionate care they provided to John.
A private family service will be held in the spring.
