Jacques R. Alleyn, Q.C., the first General Counsel and Vice-President, Legal services at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation/SRC passed away on May 19th 2015 in Ottawa. He was born in 1926 to Germaine Desjardins and Charles Alleyn. He will be missed by his life companion and partner for more than thirty years, Nicole Cloutier, Q.C., with whom he shared his tenderness for the children and his passion for life and their profession. He leaves behind the mother of his children, Constance Shink Alleyn, his children Pierre and Julie (Lance Collins), his grand-daughter Renée Alleyn, and Nicole's son, Martin Payette (Josée Loisel); the son and daughters of his brother (the late Louis de Gaspé Alleyn): Claude de Gaspé (Anne-Marie Grégoire), Françoise, Suzanne, the sons and daughter of his sister (the late Françoise Alleyn Moore): William, George and Nancy (Bob Lewis), and their respective children. Also, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Léo Gauvreau (the late Marjorie Shink), Yves Cournoyer et Renée Cloutier, Benoit Cloutier et Françoise Côté, the sons and daugthers-in-law of Benoit and their mother (Louise Legault). Finally, his dear friends of all times and all countries, his much-appreciated collegues at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation/SRC, at the European Broadcasting Union and the world of broadcasting and copyrigth law, his legal scholar friends of the Outaouais Valley, his sailing companions in the Thousand Islands, the much-admired painters and neighbours of the community where he walked his dogs for more than forty years.

The religious service will be held on Friday on June 26th at 2 p.m. at Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica in Ottawa, 385 Sussex Drive. Friends may pay their respects in the Basilica, starting at 1 p.m.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and the members of the Bruyère Family Medicine Centre as well as the ambulance attendants who demonstrated skill and attentive care on May 19th.
