C'est avec une profonde tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de Brigitta Kovacs-Bankuti, survenu le vendredi 27 février 2026 à La Maison des Collines, à Wakefield, au Québec. Elle était âgée de 95 ans.
Brigitta a mené une longue vie riche de sens, remplie d'amour, d'amitié et de dévouement envers sa famille. Elle laissera un souvenir affectueux à sa fille, Brigitta (Thomas), à ses petits-enfants chéris, Scott et Lauren (Eric), ainsi qu'à son arrière-petit-fils bien-aimé, Jack. Elle laisse également derrière elle de nombreux amis chers à Montréal, à Saint-Bruno, à Gatineau, à Québec, partout au Canada et dans son pays d'origine, la Hongrie. Elle était sincèrement aimée de tous ceux qui avaient le privilège de la connaître.

Ceux qui ont connu Brigitta garderont toujours son amour dans leur cœur.
La famille tient à remercier chaleureusement Helen pour son amitié et sa gentillesse indéfectibles au fil des ans. Elle exprime également sa sincère gratitude aux médecins, au personnel et aux bénévoles de La Maison des Collines pour leurs soins et leur soutien compatissants.
Nous remercions tout particulièrement les docteurs Michelle Lajzerowicz et David Gold pour leur dévouement et leurs soins.
Une crémation aura lieu, suivie d'une cérémonie privée au cimetière dans les Laurentides cet été, où Brigitta reposera aux côtés de son mari bien-aimé et de ses parents.
Au lieu de fleurs, la famille demande que des dons soient faits à La Maison des Collines, l'établissement de soins palliatifs où elle a été prise en charge avec tant de compassion durant ses derniers jours.
La chaleur, la force et la générosité de Brigitta nous manqueront profondément et resteront à jamais gravées dans nos mémoires.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Brigitta Kovacs-Bankuti on Friday, February 27, 2026, at La Maison des Collines in Wakefield, Quebec. She was 95 years old.
Brigitta lived a long and meaningful life, filled with love, friendship, and devotion to her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Brigitta (Thomas), and her cherished grandchildren, Scott and Lauren (Eric), as well as her beloved great-grandson, Jack. She also leaves behind many dear friends in Montreal, St-Bruno, Gatineau, Quebec City, across Canada, and in her ancestral homeland of Hungary. She was truly loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Those who knew Brigitta will carry her love in their hearts always.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Helen for her unwavering friendship and kindness throughout the years. Sincere gratitude is also expressed to the doctors, staff, and volunteers at La Maison des Collines for their compassionate care and support.

A cremation will take place, followed by a private graveside ceremony in the Laurentians this summer where Brigitta will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband and her parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to La Maison des Collines, the palliative care home where she was so compassionately cared for in her final days.
Brigitta’s warmth, strength, and generous spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
