It is with deep regrets that the Desormeaux family announces the passing of Robert (Sly) Albert Desormeaux at home, on Friday December 24, 2021, at the age of 82, after a lengthy battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
Sly will be greatly missed by his two children, Luc (Marie-Eve Champagne) and Anne-Marie (Scott Saunders), his brothers, Andre (Carmelle Beauchamps), Jean Jacques (Gloria) and Gerard (Jocelyne Malboeuf). Sly is further survived by his 5 grandchildren, Luka, Camille, Juliette, Meghan, Jaime and many nieces and nephews.
Sly was predeceased by his beloved wife, Suzanne Beauchamps, his parents, Albert and Jeanne (Lemieux) and sister Denise (Roger Asselin).
He will be remembered by his companion and friend Claire Dufresne and many other friends and co-workers.
Sly spent his life and cherished his time, working in the construction industry for 50 plus years. His work ethics, dedication and pride, enabled him to build a company, “Sly Crete”, which later evolved and is now known as “Latcon (2009) Ltd.” in the Ottawa-Gatineau region. It was not uncommon to see him working around the shop, although he maintained he was retired. Sly became a friend to anyone he met and could tell a good story.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 10 a.m. at La Coopérative funéraire de l’Outaouais, 95 Cité des Jeunes Boulevard in Hull. Family will receive condolences as of 9:15. My deepest sympathies Claire, you and Sly had a wonderful 14 plus years together, spending time at the cottage and the numerous family together over the years. He loved you very much as you did, you were with him when he passed for that I know his family is grateful, he is now at peace looking down at you with great pride for all you shared. Ttake care, our prayers and thoughts are with you.
My deepest condolences - I only knew Sly at construction sites over many years although in frequently as our paths crossed. He was always a gentlemen and honest with a smile even if we did not always agree. He was a good man and will be missed!

We enjoyed wonderful times with both of you.
