1930 - 2023

Piola (Yolla) Khalaf (née Metni) passed away peacefully in Gatineau on Wednesday September 27, 2023, at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Victor Khalaf, and loving and caring mother of Joe (Amal Nasrallah), Rafic (Suzanne Lahoud) and Leila (Bachir Yassine). Her affection, love, resilience and presence will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Victor, Ramsey, Wael, Nadine, Caroline, Rami and Rhea, and by her great grandchildren Ariela and Elinor.  She was predeceased by her brothers Fouad, Emile of Lebanon and Michel of Geneva, Switzerland.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, September 29, 2023 between 6 pm and 9 pm at the Coopérative funéraire de l’Outaouais, 95 boulevard de la Cité-des-Jeunes in Gatineau, Hull sector. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 30 at 1 pm at Saint Peter and Saint Paul Greek Melkite Catholic Church, 1161 North River Road in Ottawa.

Special thanks and appreciation to the staff of the Centre d’hébergement La Piétà, and to the 5th floor team for their support and the good care provided.

In memory of her life, donations can be made to the Saint Peter and Saint Paul Church with appreciation and gratitude.
