BRUYÈRE, Marcel

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Marcel Bruyère on July 26, 2025, at the age of 93. He was the husband of Hilda McSheffrey and the son of the late Prospère Bruyère and the late Sarah Patenaude.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Mark (late Marie-France Cecire), Barry (Ann) and Sharon (Joe Santos), his grandchildren Christopher, Jerrica (Patrice), Mélissa and Alex (Mélanie), his great-grandchildren Janessa, Joève and Sia. He also leaves his brother Jean-Guy (late Ginette), his sisters Éléonore (late Tony) and Marie (Michel), as well as many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers Roger and Raymond.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 2 p.m. at the COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉRAIRE DE L'OUTAOUAIS located at 1369, La Vérendrye West Blvd. in Gatineau. The family will receive condolences at 1:15 p.m.

Marcel was like a brother to me. We had many productive conversations which laid down the path of my life.
During my college years I lived with Marcel and until I got married.
I thank Marcel for being the caregiver to my sister in her later years.
