A nos cousins et cousines Dubé
Nos sincères condoléances lors du décès de notre chère tante Madeleine.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Madeleine Dubé. She was surrounded by family on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the age of 92. She left us after a long battle with multiple health issues.
Predeceased by her loving husband Yvon Dubé, beloved mother to Suzanne (Jacques), Monic (Santino), Daniel (Danielle) and Stéphane (Julie). Cherished grandmother of Mélanie, Sébastien (Samantha), Danika (Martin) and Jamie-Lee. Dear great-grandmother of Kayson, Theodore (Teddy) and Emma. Daughter of the late Richard Boivin, late Germaine Choquette and sister of the late Lucille Girouard (late Jacques Girouard). She is survived by her sisters-in-law Lise Newland (Art) and Hélène Dubé (late Gilles Dubé), her brother-in-law Jean-Marc Dubé (Suzy) and all nieces and nephews.
Our hearts are a bit shattered that we will not be able to talk and hug her anymore, but we are at peace that she is now reunited with our Dad.
Her love of sport blossomed early as she became an exceptional swimmer. Madeleine had high hopes and dreams. She was selected as part of the Canada swimming team for the 1948 London Olympics. A young 14 year-old accomplished Olympic caliber swimmer. She was such a strong special woman, always happy, respectful, fun and never complained. Madeleine's life story is a true inspiration for us all.
Madeleine will be fondly remembered by many friends, and will be deeply missed by many. SHE WILL BE FOREVER LOVED.
She was fortunate to have a remarkable family doctor (Dr. Kay-Anne Haykal), a nephrologist, Dr. Fairhead, and an entire team who cared for her for years. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the healthcare professionals who provided attentive care to our Mother during her stay at Hillel Lodge long-term care home, [the Bess and Moe Greenberg family] (THE HOME SHE REALLY LOVED).
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
Family and friends can pay their last respects on Monday, August 18, at 10:30 a.m. at the Coopérative funéraire de l’Outaouais located at 750 Maloney Blvd. E in Gatineau (Lac Beauchamp Pavilion). The family will receive condolences at 10:00 a.m.
