Following his studies at Concordia and McGill Universities, Joe worked as a social worker for various Ottawa non-profit organizations. He later worked for the public service of Canada.

Gerri and the Poirier/Lavoie families

Our deepest sympathies to Gerri and family for their loss. From watching Joe's accomplishment with the Rough Riders to working with him at Tourism Canada, we saw a many who had a positive influence on many lives. In all our years of friendship and working together, Joe never said an unkind word about anyone. Joe was loved and he will be missed.
