SIMS, Dale
1939 - 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dale Sims at the age of 86. Dale leaves behind his devoted wife and lifelong companion, Grace, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and friendship.
Dale was the son of Leonard Sims and Ida Achtell, both deceased. He is survived by his brother Graydon (Helen), and his sister Donna. Predeceased by Richard (Vicky), and Gregory. Dale leaves behind nieces, nephews and many cousins.
He was a proud and loving father to Tim (Chantal), Julie (Steven) and Marie (Warren predeceased). He cherished his role as a grandfather and lived for his grandchildren: Brody (predeceased), Kaiden, Kiera, Austin, Hunter and Aviana, who brought him immense joy.
Dale had a deep love for the country and farm life. He took pride in raising chickens, pigs, cattle, sheep, and even pheasants, and he found great fulfillment in working the land.
In his younger years, Dale was an active member of the Hill and Gully Rider Snowmobile Club, sharing many fun times with Grace and friends. Later in life, he enjoyed countless evenings playing sandbags, creating more fond memories with his wife and close friends.
Dale will be remembered for his kindness, humour, and devotion to his family and the farm. His presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
Visitation for condolences will be held at 10 a.m., followed by a service at 11a.m. at St-Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 643 Inlet Road, Mulgrave-et-Derry, on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Le Monarque Palliative Care Residence or to St-Matthew's Lutheran Church in Dale’s memory.
