Rita Savoie (McGovern)

It is with deep sadness that we say good-bye to Rita McGovern who passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on June 23, 2020 at home surrounded by family.

Predeceased by her loving husband Marc Savoie, parents : Thomas and Violet McGovern, three siblings : Margaret (Gerald Murphy), Hughie and Arnie of Gatineau.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of her children : Tammy Campbell (Rob Kohlman), Jeff Campbell (Colleen Donahue) and Guy Savoie (Carole Roussel). Rita was the cherished grandmother of Chelsea (Jay Maidment), Katelyn (Ryerson Neill), Eve, Loik and great-grandmother to Luukas and Xavier. She will be greatly missed by her brothers and sisters-in-law along with many nieces, nephews and her dear friend Adeline Gendron.

A private ceremony will be held due to current circumstances.

For those wishing to donate in Rita’s memory, a donation may be made to the charity of your choice.

The family wish to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Marc Lapointe and the medical team of CLSC Gatineau Palliative Care, in particular, Elise Lahaie, Jacinthe Duhamel and Catherine Dupuy who provided gentle and attentive care.
