It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Lorraine Mercier, born Racine, wife of the late Honorable Pierre Mercier and Gilles Brunet, the father of her children. She leaves her four children Luc (feu Johanne Guimont), Claire (Yves Thivierge), Gilbert (Evelyne Boudreault) and Raymond (Murielle Brazeau), her nine grandchildren Dominique and Geneviève Auger, Hugo, Jean-François, Marie-Laurence, Samuel, Sophie, Ariane and Sébastien Brunet and nine great-grandchildren. She also leaves the children of Pierre Mercier: Paul (Rita Chong), Adèle (Gary Kibbins), Lise (Mike Clark) and Louis (Denise Grenier-Mercier), nine grandchildren Charles, Anne, Olivier, Antoine, Samuelle, Stéphanie, Nicholas, Isabelle, Katrina as well as his five great-grandchildren. She also leaves many close parents and friends.
Lorraine passed away peacefully on September 26, 2023, at the age of 92. All our wonderful memories of Lorraine are already warming our hearts and will continue to alleviate the pain of her absence. Always positive through hardships, she considered herself to be a lucky person and her cheerfulness was contagious. She was an artist at heart and often indulged in writing and drawing. An avid reader, she would discuss any subject with surprising open-mindedness and her spiritualism could sometimes approach mysticism. Questioned about the secrets of her longevity, she credited yoga, which she practiced religiously for about fifty years. A gracious, elegant and classy lady has departed, and we will never forget her azure-blue eyes and angelic beauty, always enhanced by her fashionable and sometimes bold style.
Private funerals will be held with members of her family.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Domaine des Trembles, the Hull Hospital and the maison Mathieu-Froment-Savoie for the excellent care provided.
