Hickey, Earl

HICKEY, Earl

1941 - 2020

On the morning of September 4th, 2020 at the age of 78, after a courageous battle with cancer, Earl passed away in the comfort of his home.

Devoted and loving husband of Maureen (nee Fleury). Proud and cherished father of Laurie-Anne (Jeff Casselman).  Grampa will be missed dearly by his only granddaughter “dolly”, Krista Casselman (Scott Asselin).

He is survived by his brother Lionel (Shirley Hunter). He will be lovingly remembered by his brother in-law Marcel, and his sister in-law Lucille, as well as his nieces and nephew. Predeceased by his parents Oswald and Eileen Hickey.

Earl worked at Sealtest in his younger years, and then until his retirement he worked at Hostess-Frito Lay in Ottawa.

Earl will be fondly remembered by his sense of humour, his loud contagious laugh, and his passion for fishing and hunting.

Due to Covid 19, a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

Mrs. H, Laurie-Anne and the family,

I am so sadden to hear of the passing of Mr. H. I have so so so many found memories of him…

Heaven has gained another very BIG Bright star… Memories are gifts from God and we must all hang on to them for dear life and treat them like Gold. Mr. H and I would watch Alf together… OMG he loved his Alf… He also loved his Maureen and Laurie-Anne… I was lucky enough to witness that love first hand…. He treated me like his daughter and Mrs. H likewise and I will always hold that dear to my heart. Laurie-Anne and I lost track of one another…. But would from time to time check in on one another… Remember all the good times my dear friend… till you meet again xx
