MALETTE (NÉE CARON), Diane
1933 - 2023
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Diane Malette (née Caron) on January 4, 2023, at the age of 89.
She was the wife of the late Gérald Malette and the daughter of the late Henri Caron and the late Olivine Lecomte. She was predeceased by her sister Yolande (the late Antoine Pampalon). Diane is survived by her children Michel (Marie-Josée Raby) and Célyne (Neil Bassett); her grandchildren Étienne, Camille, Julien (Andrée-Ann Mercier-Blais), Maxime and Tristan; her great-granddaughters Magalie and Clémence; her sister Adéline; her sister-in-law Louise Hughes (Michael Hughes); as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
A dedicated nurse whose career at the Buckingham Hospital spanned over 40 years (including in Obstetrics, ER and OR), Diane was passionate about surgery and touched many lives.
The family would like to thank the management and staff of the Résidence Sélection Retraite Gatineau, and especially the Rose-Aimée health unit team for their compassionate care. Heartfelt thanks are also extended to her personal support worker, Léandre Caron-Poirier (Bien chez soi), the teams of the Outaouais Paramedic Services, the Emergency Department and the Palliative Care Unit of the Hull Hospital for the exceptional care they provided Diane, as well as the respect, kindness and compassion they showed her until the very end.
A private celebration of life, in the presence of her ashes, will be held with the immediate family at a later date. Your expressions of sympathy may be in the form of a service or a donation to a charity of your choice in Diane's memory.
