Tu n’as pas eu une vie facile et en même temps, je ne connais personne qui a aussi bien réussi sa vie que toi.
Tu as été fort, très fort, à chacun des niveaux humains : physiquement, intellectuellement et spirituellement. Il y aurait long à dire pour chacun de ces domaines.
Tu as certes été un être doué, mais jamais hautain.
Tu as connu de nombreux défis, mais ne t’en es jamais plaint.
Même malade, tu exhibais une énergie hors du commun.
Puisses-tu reposer en paix pour ensuite poursuivre ta carrière ascendante de fils de Dieu.

Calvin nous a apportés tous et toutes un exemple superbe de l'endurance vital et d'un esprit généreux et accompli. Pleinement accompli; et toi, son accomplice, a gagné le droit de te reposer.

Les gens ne sont que de passage dans nos vie. Certains pour un long moments et laisse une trace futile et d’autre pour une courte durée mais y laisse une trace indélébile…ce fut le cas de Calvin. Calvin est entré dans mon salon de barbier il y a plus ou moins une année et y revenais de façons très régulière. Un client hors de l’ordinaire. 90 minutes remplie de discussion toujours passionnante sur la vie. Des moments qui se terminais toujours sur des rires mémorables mais aussi parfois sur des larmes qui provenaient du cœur. Un homme remplie de mystère mais qui a su me redonner espoir envers mon prochain. Calvin se voulais généreux lorsque venait le temps de payer son service mais ne réalisais pas que aucun montant ne valait le temps que nous avions passer ensemble, c’était là ma vrai récompense. Dans les mois qui ont précédé son décès, Calvin m’a demandé si il pouvait m’accompagner au gym le matin. Je n’y comprenais rien! Cette homme à qui la fin semblait proche, cette homme qui semblait faible et fragile allait se lever à 4 heures du matin pour faire de la gym!!! Je ne voulais pas lui refuser et je voyais ça comme une opportunité pour apprendre à mieux le connaître et percer l’homme à la vie mystérieuse. Mais encore une fois je me suis tromper! Ce petit homme étais en fait comme Astérix le gaulois! Remplie du force et d’un courage digne des plus grands guerrier que le monde est connu, Calvin nous appris qu’il ne faut jamais abandonner et persévérer. Calvin a p-e été vaincu par le cancer, mais je peux vous assurer qu’il c’est battu corps et âme jusqu’à son dernier souffle, il a persévérer la ou tous nous aurions abandonner! J’aurais tellement aimer que tu puisse continuer de me raconter à quel point lili étais une femme magnifique et comment tu étais reconnaissant envers elle et que je puisse continuer de voir tes yeux s’illuminer quand tu me parlais de ta fille et de la fierté que tu éprouvais de la voir faire ses études.
Calvin, mon ami, merci de ton passage et de la trace que tu aura laisser dans ma vie. Profite de se repos bien mérité tel le guerrier que tu es!

Calvin, my friend and spiritual brother,

The first time I met you, a subtle intuition suggested that I was dealing with a deeply spiritual person, a feeling more than confirmed afterwards.

You radiated love, joy and a profound sense of peace despite acute physical suffering, demonstrating that you reached that Peace that passes all understanding.

In life, you fearlessly drank the cup to the dregs, yet you never faltered; you remained at peace and well poised like the flame of a candle, always pointing upward.

And the waves of adversity never reached the impregnable citadel of your living soul. These are the hallmarks of a rich and deep spiritual life. You demonstrated to your beloved ones the triumph of the spirit over the hardships of life. As a beacon of spiritual light, you instilled hope in the hearts of your fellows.

Now, as you are awakening, your life continues on the shores of a much better world, and I can only imagine your astonishment as your wondrous gaze witnesses the unfoldings of this new and better life. No doubt, the scintillating glimmer of light discernable in your human eyes now overabundantly radiates through your living soul.

May you joyfully reconnect with your previously departed ones, my friend.
I bid you farewell, but for a season only, since we will all meet again on those new shores, and engage altogether in the most fascinating of all adventures, the adventure of the ages, unveiling and unfolding the wonders of truth, goodness and beauty on increasing worlds of glory, were life has no end.

In the meantime, my spiritual brother, we, together with your beloved ones, will keep a vibrant and living place for you in our hearts, And this is so much more than a mere memory since the intense yet invisible links connecting all of us heart-to-heart are stronger than death.

And for your beloved ones who feel the acute pain, the deep sadness that so understandably follows your departure from this world, please be courageous, have faith and keep hope. The current sadness will fade like the stars before the rising sun when you will meet him again.

Calvin, you could have left this world long ago, but you decided to hold on as long as possible - out of sheer love for your beloved ones. No words are strong enough to express the intensity of that divine joy about to blossom in our hearts when and as we will all meet again on high.

Peace! Light! Life! And spiritual joy to all faithfully connected hearts.

Calvin’s family & memory

My prayers go to Calvin’s family and loved ones.
I am an old friend - we went to university together in Halifax. It was a wonderful time and Calvin was a close friend. His creativity, talents and academic abilities stand out. I remember him making me a Caesar salad & I was in awe of such a delicious dish. I never heard of it before. I always loved running into him and catching up on life.
It’s sad to hear of his passing. I knew something was up - I retired and sent him my new email address last winter. I didn’t hear from him.
His last picture to me was him driving his new F-150 truck - he seemed in heaven then. God bless brother.
