It is with sadness that we announce the passing of
Andreas (Andy) Walker
Deceased on February 17, 2021 at the age of 48. Son of Marie-Louise Schmidt and late Gérald Walker, he leaves his soulmate Rita Lamothe, his daughters Tara and Chloe (Emma, predeceased). He leaves his sisters Sandra and Tania (David), his granddaughter Pearl, his nephew Yannick, his nieces Calista and Rebecka as well as other family members and many friends.
A celebration of life will be held this summer.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute would be greatly appreciated.
Special thanks to the ICU unit of the Sacred-Heart Hospital.

The Walker family and Rita
Hello,
I believe we've all known each other, without having actually met. I first met Andy my first year attending Darcy Mcgee. I had transferred from Immaculata in Ottawa and attended Darcy from grade 9 until graduation. I had never met someone with a Mohawk and was awestruck when Andy walked around with his! I told him I loved it and it was awesome and we immediately hit it off! Of course that was after he got in my face and spouted, What the $#&ck are you looking at! Lol As with me, both my sisters fell in love with his huge spirit! And thus our friendship and bond began! 34 years of memories with this friend and not one moment was ever dull! Lol everyone who knows Andy knows he was a handful! Lol but how could you just not love the guy! If he was your friend, he loved you like a sibling! And he wasn't shy to tell you, at least after a few pints! Our fishing and camping group of pals is a very close knit group. For the most part we've all know each other for more than 30 years, and he was one of us! We will miss him, but we will especially miss him with each cast of a line in the water! With each fish landed or lost, we will miss him! But please know, our group will Never forget him! He will be celebrated and remembered each time we tie our knots, set up our tents, sit around a roaring fire, and share a few pints. You can guarantee that we will acknowledge his spirit and his presence! From all of us, we are so sorry for your loss! The world lost a fire ball of a soul when his spark went out!

I am saddened by this news but I have nothing but absolute fond memories of Andy and his contagious laughter, sparkling eyes and radiant smile. Truly sorry for your loss. Andy and I were friends not close but we did grow up when we teenagers. We did party together and went fishing trips together. How I met Andy was when we were about 15, 16, Andy came to my neighbours house. Andy had this huge colourful Mohawk. Andy was a rebel. lol. We hung out and had fun.
I was shock when he passed. Life is to short. But I know Andy would like us to party on and live life to the fullest. Rest in peace Andy and thank you for time we had together. You will be missed.
