Harry Bouwman
My sympathies to Diane, Nicki, Thea and Theo as well as family abroad
It is with heavy hearts that the daughters of Adrianus (Arie/Harry) Bouwman announce the passing of their awesome and beloved dad, on October 19, 2025, at the age of 94. He was the loving husband of the late Richarda (Ria) Bomars, his wife of 64 years whom he missed every day. He was the son of the late Adrianus Bouwman and the late Alida Koedooder.
He will be dearly missed by his forever grateful daughters and their partners who were like sons to him, Diane (Jim), Nicoletta (Kerry) and Thea (Yves). He leaves behind his sister Annie and brothers Theo and Ton as well as several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his sister Greet and by his brothers Jan, Siem, John, Wim, Hennie and Cor.
Arie was a proud man; proud of his family, proud of his accomplishments and proud of every man who worked for him, including his little brother Theo, at the pulp and paper mill in Masson.
Arie was well known for saying “I’ve lived a good life”. And he did just that.
A Celebration of his life will be held at the COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉRAIRE DE L'OUTAOUAIS, at 116, Maclaren E. Street, in Gatineau (Buckingham sector), on Tuesday November 18th, 2025 at 10 a.m. The family will receive condolences at 9:15 a.m.
Should you wish, a donation in his memory to La Maison des Collines (palliative care home) in Wakefield would be appreciated. www.lamaisondescollines.org
The family wishes to thank the personnel of the Wakefield Hospital and La Maison des Collines (palliative care home) for the excellent care they provided, their devotion and their kindness during a very difficult time. They would also like to thank the personnel and all his friends at Chateau Symmes and Chez Putters in Aylmer for looking out for him, keeping him entertained and allowing him to entertain them over the past few years of his well lived life.
