Passed away peacefully, in the arms of her mother, at Elizabeth Bruyere Hospital, on March 14, 2011.
Beloved daughter of Franklin and Gloria (nee Murphy). Dear sister of Kim. Best friend of Natalie Jones. Grand-daughter of Darcina Murphy of Cornwall.
Sonya grew up in Aylmer, Quebec, attended Philemon Wright High School and Heritage College. She graduated with a B.A.Sc in Engeneering from the University of Ottawa in 2002, and later obtained her B. Comm degree from Carleton University in 2007. She was employed as a Chartered Accountant at Price Waterhouse Coopers in Ottawa.
She will be cremated then interred at Notre Dame Cemetary in Cornwall. A celebration of her life will take place at the COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉRAIRE DE L'OUTAOUAIS, at 95 Cité-des-Jeunes Blvd, in Gatineau (Hull sector), on March 27 at 2:30 p.m. The family will receive the condoleances at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ottawa Cancer Society.
