Rolande Bélair
December 7, 1927 November 24, 2014
Rolande was a generous, loyal and hard-working woman. She enjoyed a good book and a glass of wine. She loved red roses. A loving mother and grand-maman, she led by example and will be deeply missed by her daughters Stella, Claudette (John) and Monique (Douglas), and grandchildren Johanne, Annemarie, Olivier and Konané. She is survived by her brother Horace Vachon (Hamilton), cousins Claudette Laurin and Lorraine Warden as well as many other family members. Armand and Hélène Lapointe were good friends for many years.
She was predeceased by her devoted husband Maurice, father and mother René Vachon and Bernadette Leroux, brothers Fernand, Ernest, Germain and sister Reina. Many thanks to the dedicated nursing home staff who supported Rolande with compassion. Our heartfelt gratitude to long-time caregivers Lorraine, Fartun, Carla and Marie-France whose unfailing, loving and kind care of Rolande over the years was a true blessing.
Cremation has taken place and a service and reception will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, December 4 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 194 Fourth Avenue, Ottawa. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation. In memoriam donations to a charity of your choice is appreciated.
