ECKSTRAND, Olof Roger
Passed away on April 25, 2013 at the age of 80.
Kind, thoughtful, instantly likeable and possessed of a top-shelf mind, he will be remembered as a distinguished and authoritative career scientist, globetrotting renaissance man and an indulgent and loving husband, father and friend.
He was the beloved husband of the late Jessie Marlene MacLeod. Loving father of Roger (Lorraine Reilly), Kris (Leanne Baines) and Kevin (Claudine Cyr). Cherished grandfather of Zack, Kai, Jasmine, Mia, Maïka and Cédrik. Son of the late Lars Walter Eckstrand and the late Elsie Evelyn Sivertson. Dear brother of Leonard (Lynda), Evelyn (Ken, deceased) and Lee (Lorraine). He leaves behind a great many dear relatives, friends, colleagues and admirers.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa, 30 Cleary Avenue, Ottawa, with reception to follow. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the family at the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
