It is with great sadness that we announce that Mary Susan Way (née Gloade) passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, at the age of 97. Mary was born in Truro, Nova Scotia on December 18, 1927. She was a daughter of Stephen Sr. and Anastasia Gloade.
Mary is survived by her spouse Peter Cameron, her son Frank Way (Nadine), her grandson Alexander Way (Catherine), her great-grandson Owen Stafford Way, her stepsons Tyrus Cameron (Julie), Travis Cameron (Carol), Tobias Cameron (Christine) and many wonderful nephews and nieces.
Along with her parents, Mary is predeceased by her former spouse Francis “Frank” Way, her son Michael Way, her brothers Tom, Gordon and Stephen Jr. Gloade, her sisters Theresa Moore and Muriel Barr.
Mary graduated from Nursing School in Campbellton, New Brunswick and settled in Baie Comeau, Quebec where she raised a family with loving care and had a meaningful career, for over 40 years, as an operating room nurse at the Baie Comeau Regional Hospital until her retirement in 1989.
Mary was an avid reader, outstanding dancer and outdoors enthusiast. All who knew her will remember, with affection, her devotion to her family and friends. May her spirit be at peace and her memory live on in the hearts of those she touched.
A private funeral service will be held for Mary. Friends will be able to watch the ceremony live or in replay via https://commemora.tv/fr/diffusions/109352
