MURRAY, Daniel Francis "Danny"
Born in Montreal, Quebec, on November 18, 1946, Danny passed away peacefully at home in Gatineau, Quebec, on July 25, 2025, after a long illness, surrounded by his family.
Danny's life was characterized by his passion for music, his friendships, his love for animals, and his desire for travel. Born in Montreal to a military family, Danny lived in several cities and towns, as well as in Belgium and in RCAF Marville, France, where his family was stationed. There, he became known for his suave dance moves and his role as a teenage radio DJ at the local radio station.
After returning to Canada, Danny served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1965 to 1970. Following his service, he returned to civilian life, settling in the Ottawa and Wakefield, Quebec area. Danny enjoyed spending his time with his many friends, playing golf, participating in hockey pools, and having countless barbecues at Pike Lake.
He was the beloved brother of Geraldine Murray and Michael Murray (Diane) and the son of the late Leo Murray and Evelyn (nee Price). He was also an uncle to Stephen and Jason (Smith), Jimmy and Jason (Racicot), as well as a lifelong friend to Andy and Jocelyn Leblanc, and Gerry Tremblay of Pike Lake, Quebec.
Following his wishes, Danny was cremated, and no formal funeral or celebration of life will be held. Flowers are respectfully declined; however, donations to the charity of your choice in Danny's memory are greatly appreciated.
