ROY, Alcide
After a long battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alcide J. Roy at the age of 91, on June 6, 2011. He served in the Canadian Navy during World War II and was employed with E.B. Eddy for 34 years. He is survived by his loving wife Florence Bower in their 68th year. Beloved son of Edouard Roy and Elisabeth Bigras. Father of Anne (Pat Hall), Sherrill (Claude Blondin), Francine, Daniel, Edward (Nicole Blondin), Jonathan, Diane (John Robertson). Grandfather of: Patricia, Paul, Jennifer, Ian, Curtis, Sarah, Mark, Jay, Ashley, Shaun, Amy and Jesse. His great-grandchildren: Logan, Hannah, Jasper, Max, Ari, Sophie, Jason, Vera and Brooke. He will fondly be remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. He is pre-deceased by his five siblings. We would like to give a special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Hull Hospital, CLSC, Veterans Affairs and Maison Mathieu Froment-Savoie for their dedicated service. In memoriam, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Memorial service to be announced at a later date.
