ROY-LALANDE, Marinette

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Marinette Roy-Lalande on January 12, 2020, at the age of 86. She was the daughter of Corinne Martel-Roy and Louis-Olivier Roy of Sainte-Anne des Monts in Gaspésie. Marinette leaves her husband Roch Lalande, her children Jean (Danielle Boyer), Dominique (Bob Brunet) and Sophie (Sylvain Angers), her grandchildren Marie-Camille (Nathan Lemphers), Simon (Alison O’Reilly), Émilie (Giancarlo Zeni), Olivier (Audrey Robertson), Victor and Coralie, and her great-grandsons Jude and Dominic. She was predeceased by three of her brothers Charles-Eugene, Gaston and Louis-Joseph, and leaves behind her brothers Jacques (late Sylvia Akerlind-Roy), Yves (Caro Leman), Paul (Marcienne Lévesque) and many nephews and nieces.

Art in all its forms was Marinette’s passion in life. She contributed to the advancement of the Franco-Ontarian and Franco-Canadian culture through her involvement with ACFO (Association of francophone communities of Ontario), CIDC (Interprovincial council for the promotion of culture) and the Ontario Arts Council.

Friends may pay their respects starting at 10:30 a.m at Sacré-Coeur Church of Ottawa, 591 Cumberland St, Ottawa, Ontario, K1N 7K3, on Saturday, February 8, 2020. The funeral mass will follow at 11:30 a.m.
