A tireless worker and energetic entrepreneur, he came to Canada on a boat from Campobasso, Italy with his mother at the age of 9. He quickly learnt French and English and rose in the ranks of computer engineers. He loved dancing and joined an Italian folk-dancing group eventually meeting Joanne Parent, the love of his life at a dance. He was a computer pioneer, founding Microserv, a first Apple-only store in a small stripmall in Dorval. He also founded the local soccer association in Lachine with other like-minded parents. He was an exceptional father and role model for his children, but what truly made his grey-blue eyes sparkle was the sight and love of his many grand-children which he adored and doted on.

Quelle tristesse.

Dear Joanne and family:
So very sad to learn of Fernando's passing. While it has been years, I have fond memories of our times with you, Fern, and Bob and Nancy Anne. May it help to know that others share your loss and sorrow. I have sent a donation the the Montreal Children's Hospital as I know that his children and grandchildren meant a lot to him. Thinking of you at this sad time. With my deepest sympathy.

My deepest sympathy to you and all your family in the loss of your husband, Fernando. Conditions imposed by the current pandemic make a painful period all the more complicated to deal with. May the knowledge that caring hearts are reaching out to you be of comfort right now and may a wealth of happy memories replace your sorrow in the days to come.

Sincerely,
Carolyn Cronk
