Fran d'Eca and family

Dearest Fran, We are so very sorry that you have lost your husband, dear Steve. We have so many memories of good times together. Wonderful dinners, Christmas parties, Rick and Steve's weekly squash date, backyard swim parties and of course the illustrious Gourmet Dinner Gang. While we have not seen Steve in some time we kept in touch through email, as best we could.

May the stories you share in the days, months and years ahead bring comfort and peace to you and to your children.

Love, Peggy and Rick Henderson

Please accept our sincere condolences on this very sad occasion. It was my privilege to work with Stephen d'Eça all those years with the City of Ottawa. We enjoyed many long walks and talks together, and had an unconditional friendship.
Stephen was a man of great heart and of great principle. He talked the talk eloquently and he walked the walk diligently. God Rest His Noble Soul.
With heartfelt sympathy, Sherry Sooch and Mike Ryan

All who loved Stephen

Steve, you would have loved your own funeral. What a tribute to you and your wonderful life. So many friends and family in attendance, and many more viewing the celebration of your life by video link, from across Canada as well as England, Australia, Europe and Asia. Such a special celebration for such a special husband, father, brother, son, in-law and friend. You were so well represented in eulogy by Fran, Jesse, Jeremy and by your brother Michael, as delivered by Lucas who also delivered Mom & Dad's beautiful final thoughts. Brilliant words & presentations by all, including the wonderful life analogies of Father Frank, who presided over the entire celebration. Steve, if the purpose of life is to love and be loved, then you've shown us all, that your purpose was fulfilled. You never wavered from the task. Your example inspires us all. You will be missed by so, so many. Rest in peace Steve.
