LEVESQUE (GAGNON), Thérèse

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mrs. Thérèse Levesque (Gagnon) on February 7, 2024 in Gatineau at the age of 96.  Thérèse was the daughter of the late Victor Gagnon, the late Josephine Poulin and the wife of the late Jean-Maurice Levesque.

She adored and was so loved by her children, the late Mario, Claude (Carole), Jean-Luc (Laurie), Lyne (Robert Edington), Jean-Marc (Marie) and Anik (Cliff Hendler).

She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Adrienne Levesque and Aaron Roig, Sarah Sproule, Francine and Lance Paton, Matthew Levesque, Shawn Magierowski and Joyce Shibata, Sébastien Levesque and Connie Whittinghall, Alexandre Levesque, Simone Levesque, Julia and Nick Spence, Alex and Ashley Anderson, Samantha Anderson, Philippe Edington and Lauren Bartlett, Nicole and Franklin McGrath, Claire Edington, Madeleine Levesque, Gabrielle Levesque and Angus Stevens, and Noah Hendler.

As well, she leaves behind her precious great-grandchildren, Hawkon Moe, Allyssa Chan, Anthony Chan, Gavin Berryman, Evan Paton, Mila Paton, Ava Levesque, Jack Levesque, Ellie Levesque, Aubrey Anderson, Jason Spence, Melody Anderson, Symphony Anderson, Cadence Anderson, Jackson Edington, Eliza Edington, Georgia McGrath and future babies McGrath and Edington.

She also leaves Colleen Crawford, Ruth Sproule, Janice Samuel, Angelique Strauss and Ginette Robert, her brother André Gagnon, her sister-in-law Monique Gagnon (Brolet), her niece Chantal Levesque, many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by her brothers Gaston, Jean-Guy, her sister Pierrette, her sisters-in-law Reine Bernier, Jeanine Lavoie, Lise Robitaille, many brothers and sisters-in-law of the Levesque family and her grand-daughter Kristen Levesque Crawford.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 6 pm at La COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉRAIRE DE L’OUTAOUAIS, 1369 La Vérendrye Boulevard West in Gatineau. Family will receive condolences as of 5:30 pm. To the Levesque Family

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy on the passing of your mom. The years and life’s ever changing circumstances has not diminished the deep affection I continue to hold for her. I was 17 when Mario brought me home to meet his family and for the next decade your mom supported and guided me through pivotal life changes with patience, acceptance, wisdom and gentle advice. Never a cross word or misunderstanding passed between us. We shared great joy and sorrow. She was a beautiful soul, a woman of many talents who conducted her life with courage, grace and elegance, and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose love grew with her family. My only regret is that life did not accommodate the opportunity for my daughters and grandchildren to know and love her as I have.
