OLDFIELD, Robin

1958 - 2023

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of Mrs Robin Oldfield who passed away on October 15, 2023 at the age of 64.

This wonderful woman, who lived through so many trials in her life, nevertheless managed to preserve her great gentleness, her willingness to listen and all her empathy, and to share it with those she loved. She was the wife of the late Michel Renaud and the daughter of the late Barney (Thomas) Oldfield and the late Bernice Oldfield. She leaves in mourning her children: Marie-France Blais (Jonathan), Isabelle Renaud (Olivier), Benoit Cadieux (Debbie) and Marc Cadieux (Sylvie); her grandchildren: Nicolas, Ève, Mathilde, Clémence Michelle, Maverick and Stella-Rose. She also leaves her sisters: Sandra Jo Burton (Willard Burton), Gaye Hammond, Wendy Oldfield, Jamie Duncan (Kirk Duncan); her nephew Brent Duncan and niece Shannon Duncan, as well as many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.

A ceremony to celebrate her life will be held in the privacy of her family.

I am so profoundly sad at the loss of your mother/my sister Robin. Please accept my deepest condolences to you & all the family. My thoughts & prayers are with you all at this most difficult time. Remember that "grief" is "LOVE", so take all the time you need to grieve & remember all the love & laughs you shared together to help you through.

"A sister is loved for many things,...for friendship most of all." Robin and I grew up together being only 3 years apart. She was the first person to make me laugh as a baby in my crib, & continued to make me laugh throughout my childhood & into adulthood. That was her way. I am deeply proud she found me worthy to be my big sister, always looked after me & had my back. She saved my life time & time again, & all our lives, without even knowing it, just with her laughter. I am forever grateful to have had as my sister & my best friend. Her big beautiful smile will never be forgotten. XC

A Birthday Tribute to Robin
Born to us upon this day - Oct 23rd, 1958-my sister Robin Lyn Oldfield-a perfect precious little girl-the 4th of 5 girls born to the Oldfield family, who was taken from us far too soon. And as autumn turns to the colour of her auburn hair, Robin has found her rest. In the midst of this devastating loss & grief, I am reminded of two Bible passages. Matthew 20:16 "So the last will be first and the first will be last". I never imagined that Robin would be the first to be called home to God, only a few short days before her 65th birthday, today. This was supposed to be her retirement, her time to enjoy LIFE, children, grand children and future great grand children. She was supposed to live a very long & happy life. If only there could be one more embrace, one more heart to heart, one more holiday, one more Christmas in Buckingham. In my humanity, I do not understand God's plan. But my faith assures me that Robin is now called to God's higher purpose. John 14:2&3 "In my father's house are many mansions. I go to prepare a place for you". It is comforting to visualize Robin there in God's house, greeted & embraced by all those who have gone before, to celebrate her birthday. And knowing Robin, she will have already asked permission to decorate God's house for Christmas. Happy Birthday Robin. Love Always. Until we meet again.
