It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Norman Clohosy
on June 22nd, 2023, at the age of 59.
Son of Thérèse Labrecque and the late Norman ''Mike" Clohosy. The beloved husband of Dana Seymour and the loving father of Marko and Nicholas. He also leaves to mourn his brothers and sisters: Michel, Jacques, Marie (Dana Demmings), Louise (Daniel Benoit) as well as many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brother André.
A celebration of life will be held at the COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉRAIRE DE L'OUTAOUAIS, at 750, Maloney E. Bvld, in Gatineau, on Friday July 14th, 2023 at 10:00 am. The family will receive condolences at 9:00am. A webcast will be available or replayed at : https://commemora.tv/en/diffusions/76353

John and I were both collleagues of Norm at the Immigration and refugee board and we really appreciated him. He was a happy, generous and solution oriented person. It was a real pleasure knowing him and collaborating with him. We were chocked and very sad to hear of his passing. Please accept our deepest sympathies.
As a former colleague of Norm’s with the Military Police, it is sad news to hear of your loss. He always had time for a good laugh after a day’s work. He will be missed. My sincerest condolences to his family.

Condoléances à la famille. Que de bons souvenirs de Norm. De TQ3 à TQ5, notre premier posting a Ottawa, nos divers sorties à Hull, nos parties d'hockey et j'en passe. On c'est vu l'an passé au baseball à Ottawa après tant d'années et nous avons rit comme des enfants comme au début des années 80's. Tu vas nous manquer énormément. Reposes en paix mon Norm.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Clohosy and Seymour families, especially Dana, Marko and Nick. Norm was without a doubt a great person, personality, funny, family man, friend and mentor to many. With an infectious smile and laugh, he put himself into all that he did and made positive changes to so many people.
Thank you for letting me get to know the “Big Bamboo” for many years. Your memory will remain in all our hearts. RIP my dear good friend.
Norm was my mentor, source of inspiration and trusted friend. I've heard him talk lovingly about his family and go into great detail and passion about his life experiences and job. Norm inspired me to give as much as I receive and I will always keep him in my best inspired thoughts. He was so proud of you all and I am a better person to have known him.
The loss of a husband, a father and a dear friend will be greatly missed. He was loved and greatly respected by all. Norm was the type of person to give his shirt off his back to help you. He was there to back you up without hesitation. He will surely be missed.

It is with deep sadness that we all learned of the sudden and untimely death of our beloved Norm. Like many others, I served with Norm during his time with the Military Police, with out time together being at CFB Greenwood. Norm was extremely well-liked, infinitely trusted, and he always had this huge grin on his face that was highly contagious. You will be hard pressed to find anyone who adored his family more. He was such a huge presence in our lives back then, and I know his loss has left an enormous hole in the lives of so many people today. My heartfelt sympathy to his entire family. For Norm: Godspeed, my brother. The world is a lighter place today without your presence. We all miss you already.
I was saddened to hear of Norm’s untimely passing. I had the pleasure of working with him during his last years at the IRB. His easy going, jovial demeanour and vast knowledge made him much loved by his team, each of whom benefited from his mentoring. Norm’s wise counsel and calm approach was also much appreciated by senior management. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to know him.

C’est avec tristesse que j’ai appris le décès soudain de Norm. J’ai eu le plaisir de le côtoyer à la CISR, et j’en ai gardé que de bons souvenirs. Mes sincères condoléances à toutes la famille. Bon courage.
Mes sincères sympathies a toute la famille, sa mère, son épouse et ses garçons. Je suis tellement surpris de son départ et attristé je n'en reviens tout simplement pas. J'ai rencontré Norm AKA Superman a SIU Ottawa et ensuite on a servis en Haiti lors de la rotation 0 de l'Armee de l'Air. Norm était muté a Greenwood NS tandis que j'étais a Bagotville. On a passé six mois a St-Jean QC pour notre "pre-deployment" training avant de se rendre a Port-au-Prince. On a passé six mois ensemble, toute une belle aventure comme Peacekeepers! Il était, et a toujours été, un chic type, très professionnel et loyale. Nous avons quitté Haiti tôt sur le premier vil et nous avions atterri a Nashville Tennessee. Ce soir là, on avait soif et avions partager quelques breuvages ensemble! Je garde tellement de beaux souvenirs! J'offre a toute la famille toute le courage pour traverser cette épreuve de vie. Mes pensées et prières sont avec vous. Repose en paix Norm.

My sincere condolences. Norm was a pillar of strength at the IRB and had an impact on me as a new manager. He taught me a great deal that I continue to apply. He always brought laughter to a situation which was greatly appreciated.

I met Norm when working at DND in 2002, Constitution Bldg corner of Rideau and King Edwards. He was funny, charismatic, bigger than life personality that was happy go lucky. I will remember our NIS events such as the Christmas Party, Mike’s murder mystery wine and cheese party at Rockliff Park but I will remember the most of Norm is his warm smile that can always light up the mood.
My deepest condolences to the family, his wife and his sons. I grew up across the street from Norm and thought of him as a big brother. I am so sad to hear he passed away so young. I will always have such fond memories of Norm and our childhood on Magnus street.

Norm's smile, quick-wit, professionalism and leadership helped lead over 100 Military Police undergoing pre-deployment in St Jean, PQ. This was our first meeting, and our paths would many times over the years. Throughout Norm's impressive Military Police career, he was the leader that others wanted to emulate and to serve alongside. We are saddened by his sudden passing and offer you and your family our sincerest condolences. Rest in Peace my friend. We will remember you and honour your memory. Securitas.

At first glance Norm would seem a strong, serious and imposing character but it didn’t take long to realize he was also a warm, kind and passionate person. He cared deeply for his family, friends and colleagues and was always there during good and difficult times.
I will always have fond memories of our conversations about everything from beer to the meaning of life and all the laughter in between.
Norm left a positive mark on all the lives he touched and I am grateful to have been among those.

Words can not describe the feeling I have in regards to my childhood friend passing away at such a young age. Norm and I had a great childhood relationship with many mischievous endeavours.
I will always recall my first time meeting him, I was 7 he was 5 and my older sister took me to his house. When I arrived at the Clohosy residence, I was met by Mom number 2 (as she became known to many) and there he was, my friend that I called and still do, NAMMY.
Street hockey, Baseball at the park, basement parties, arguments, fights, falling out of trees, crashing into telephone poles with our Soap box cars that we built, crying, hugging, laughing a lot, you name it, we did it all.
We never forgot each others birthdays, and we both made sure to wish each other good things on those specific days. I will continue to carry him in my heart until we meet again....and we will

We were so saddened to hear of Norm’s passing, he was a delight to know. So pleased to have spent time with him & to have gotten to know him on a personal basis. We had fun times together & we will hold those memories in our hearts forever.
