Lyne Morin

Dear Lyne,

I did not have the honour of meeting your father but I share your feelings of loss and sorrow. My Dad who was my hero passed away at age 85 New Year's Day 2003. At the apex of his career he had a devastating stroke. He spent the 26 years of his retirement paralyzed on his right side unable to speak, write or read. His graceful acceptance of his personal tragedy has been my inspiration for keeping on keeping on through my 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and now in my senior years. I have discovered that the pain of grief never entirely leaves us but lingers as a reminder of all our loving relationships with family, friends, neighbours and animal companions. I will make a donation to the Ottawa Heart Institute in memory of your father. Richard had open heart surgery at the OHI in 2015. I am thinking of you and your family members today and going forward as Fantome, Lexi and I begin the next chapter of our lives with you, Gilles and all the members of the FSR community. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to support you during this difficult time. With compassion, Alison Overtveld
